Flew over from the US for a conference and needed to get a place near to the hotel that served a Sunday Roast. After having lived in the UK for several years I knew what to expect. And I have to say I was greatly pleased with the results, including the things that surprised me (beautifully cooked carrots that actually had some crunch to them). They seemed to have fixed the stingy gravy complaint from a earlier review that I read. I found the gravy delicious and they even had another little jug just in case I wanted more. My sole complaint was the roast potatoes didn’t have a great crunchy crust. They made up for it with some really good horseradish though. I was also extremely pleased with the atmosphere, chatty customers and some light let into the room. I vetoed another place around the corner because I couldn’t even see the chairs after coming in from outside. It looks like they just finished work on the place and I loved it. They look like a pub, but it’s not the cookie cutter places that sometimes get a little too homogeneous.

Good pub with an extensive range of drinks to try. On the expensive side. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

A pub of old acquaintance, not been back since the last reverb. Very pleasant in the hot weather, until it filled up post work. The air conditioning stopped... Good range of draft beers.

Had the beef and pork belly roast. Meat was the only good thing of the plate. Gravy was like jelly and tasted horrible. The roast potatoes was hard inside and not crisp at all. Parsnip was also under cook and the stuffing was hard and dry. Nice drink staff and understanding manager but food was very poor

Always a delightful place to visit. Staff are second to none, always care about the customer, with a smile on their face, thank you. A frequent watering hole. Big tick!
